The Pact

The weather today was a little too gloomy for my liking, so I decided to work an indoor outfit post! Plus, these Charles by Charles David “Pact” pumps arrived today in the mail, and I couldn’t resist taking them out of their shoe box for some fun. Unfortunately, as I’ve mentioned in this post, I have unbelievably small feet for my height and have come to the sad terms that I can only wear size 4 or 4.5 pumps, and the smallest form that these beautiful burgundy heels come in is a size 5. Well, when I had seen these online a couple days ago (and fell in mad love), I had talked myself into believing that maybe – just maybe! – I could live with a size 5 shoe for once. Ha! Who was I kidding? Of course my feet wouldn’t just magically elongate themselves by a few centimeters solely for the sake of fitting into my newest shoe crush. If only, right?

I’ve been fawning over pointed-toe pumps for a while now. They have this magical effect of slimming your figure (and they make my tiny feet look more proportional to the rest of my body). This particular pair is designed with a low-cut topline which reveals more foot skin but offers the ever-so covetable illusion of longer legs. I didn’t want to hinder that effect, so I opted for a leather flared skirt and a casual leather-trimmed blazer. This look might be a bit inappropriate for the office, thanks to that short hemline, but it could definitely work as a date outfit (Valentine’s Day is around the corner!). I do love that the “Pact” comes in both suede and leather form, and if a size 4.5 existed, I would certainly order them in both styles, multiple colors! They offer such a classic look yet exude a certain sexiness. I might have mentioned it once or twice, but burgundy is a huge yes for me when it comes to clothing and shoes, and this pair is the perfect shade of burgundy that’s to my liking… which makes it even more heartbreaking that I simply can’t keep these shoes. But since they’re too big and must be returned to the store, I figured I might as well play around with them in an environment where I don’t have to worry about dirtying the shoes or embarrassing myself with humiliating heel-slippages (seriously, it’s really tacky when women wear heels that are too big for them, but strangely, I still see such occurrences!).
