Remember how I mentioned in my previous post that there would be more feminine looks coming your way? Well, this lovely blue and black outfit kicks it off!
I’ve worn this mesh-paneled number a few times already for different occasions but this is actually its debut on the blog! I love the femininity of it, and I’m a fan of its modest length. Call it growing up if you will, but I’m now trying to stray away from buying short skirts and instead going for longer lengths of at least 17″, and this particular one is perfect for my height. I’m also entranced by how something as simple as mesh panels can make a black skirt so much more elegant (and yes, I evidently have a thing for mesh clothing, judging from my past looks with this dress and this shirt). There is, however, one downside of the mesh – once blemished by a snag, it’s pretty much game over, so I have to remind myself to be extra careful!
On the other hand, this slub knit tee doesn’t necessarily call for any precaution. It’s a new style and recent buy from Express that I got for a really great deal, and I already have thought of so many ways to wear it for all four seasons of the year! It really is an everyday tee that you can easily dress up or down. The slight sheerness of the tee may be a bit inconvenient, but the softness of the material and the versatility make up for it. The crew neckline prevents too much skin from showing, and it also allows the perfect opportunity for statement necklaces even though I chose to forgo heavy accessorizing this time around simply because I cannot stand to do so during hot weather. Here’s a confession: this top, like certain other items in my closet, is something I have in multiple colors because it is just THAT great!

I don’t want to end this post with a downer, but I do wish to share this story of a baby goat who was severely neglected by its previous owners. Thankfully, it has found a new family who knows how to take good care of him and give him the life he deserves. I can only hope that these rescue stories will inspire others to treat animals with love and respect and also strengthen empathy and compassion in people.
