March 20, 2014. It’s now official! Happy spring equinox!
This is by far one of my absolute favorite outfits for the spring/summer seasons. It’s cute, girly, breezy, and comfortable all at the same time (seriously, comfort is key). In fact, this tank top is one of my staple items in my closet. I’ve had it for over a year and it has consistently worked with multiple looks, and not restricted to just summer outfits. Because it is a muscle tank, I like to layer a simple bandeau underneath.
Unlike the tank, the skirt is a new addition. I’ve been experimenting with florals recently, as you may have noticed, and I just adore the color scheme and the little details on this piece. Like the skirt from this post, it’s very lightweight and flowy (beware of winds!) so it makes it super appropriate for the warmer weather, yet I can also wear it out during the cooler seasons by matching it with black hosiery. As you can see here, I tucked the hemline of the tank into the skirt (as opposed to knotting, like in this post), and to cinch in the waist, I added a thick elastic statement belt.
Now, I really must mention the shoes. I don’t quite remember if I’ve talked about my dislike for flats, but for those who are unaware of that fact… I really don’t like flats! While they may be comfortable – and I will admit that I own a pair of flats, for the sake of convenience and sensibility – they make me feel (and look) stumpy. But a few months ago, I found a great compromise. Restricted Shoes has a pair of flats that offers a slight wedge heel, and I hopped on that purchase right away. Not only does it boast the comfort of a flat, it also offers a slight elevation that reduces the “stumpiness” effect.
Hope you like this look as much as I do! Have a beautiful first day of spring!

Hi Irene 🙂
The watch I’m wearing here is no longer available, but the model that looks the most similar to it on the GUESS website would be this one: http://shop.guess.com/en/Catalog/View/women/watches/rose-gold-tone/rose-gold-tone-feminine-classic-sport-watch/U0330L2
