Alright, perhaps I am being hyperbolic with the title, but it was indeed the last Sunday supper of 2013 for me (sorry, I seem to have fallen into the habit of lag-time posting!), and there was no better way to celebrate said dinner than with the manfriend, who treated me out to a wonderful (expensive!) meal at Providence, a swanky two-star Michelin restaurant in Hollywood. We opted for the five-course prix fixe tasting menu, which included mouth-watering aji, scrumptious scallop, tender veal, melt-in-your-mouth salmon, and finished off with carmelia cream chocolate cake and macarons for dessert. I was a little amazed at how these tiny portions could result in me hosting a full-on post-dinner food baby!
It’s always fun to doll up and go out for a fabulous time. I went with a black and gold theme for the night, pairing my new Warehouse LBD with gold accessories. I love this dress; at first, I wasn’t too sure about it, since it featured a low v-neckline and I wasn’t too comfortable flaunting cleavage in people’s faces, but after covering up with a simple black bandeau underneath, it turned out to be a great dress – perfect for date night! The wrap front with the gold zipper detail adds a unique touch to this LBD, and paired with sheer black stockings and black suede booties, it put me in my all-black element. Manfriend didn’t miss out on the dolling up either – he stepped out wearing his “special-occasion-only” Ferragamo dress shoes! After all, we were dining at Providence.
