I really should start making my “Staycation Series” a regular thing! The last couple of times, I featured the W Hotel Los Angeles as well as Motif Seattle, but today, I wanted to share with you the opulence of InterContinental Los Angeles – Century City!
It was actually a couple of weeks ago that H and I retreated to this elegant hotel tucked just behind the busy Santa Monica Boulevard and a mere few blocks away from the famous Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. We love carving out “getaway” weekends every so often to escape the bustle of our busy lives, and this particular weekend happened to be perfect timing for our anniversary celebration! We generally enjoy hanging out in west-LA, and so the location of InterContinental was optimal for us, given its convenient distance from the beaches, cafes, and shopping.
Even if you’ve never heard of InterContinental Los Angeles, you’ve probably seen it before on TV (think: Lethal Weapon 2, Bones, Modern Family, New Girl, The Bachelorette, Gone Girl) as well as in countless red-carpet event photos, and there’s a reason why this hotel is so popular with the film and media industry. Upon checking in, we were thoroughly impressed with the attention and aesthetics of the hotel. Embodying the definition of luxury, the lobby featured plush seating, high ceilings, and a stunning Christmas display. Posh and tasteful, everything from the main entrance to our spacious One-Bedroom Executive Suite was inviting and opulent, eliciting so many oohs and ahhs from me as my eyes hungrily took in every detail. We didn’t have a chance to take advantage of the on-site spa and complimentary town car service, but we particularly loved the private balcony that overlooked the Los Angeles skyline (morning coffee and macarons with a gorgeous view… it doesn’t get much better than that!) and I had my own DIY spa session in the soaking tub with my Lush bubble bath and face mask and had a great time getting ready with sequins and dramatic silhouettes for the evening holiday festivities.
If you’re ever looking for a place to stay in west-Los Angeles and want to be completely blown away by first-class customer service and comfortable yet luxurious accommodations, you now know where to go.
