For the longest time, I was adamant on staying away from the lingerie/pajama-inspired trend. But when Fashion Week came along and I happened to see this River Island slip dress (similar here) in hunter green – my weakness! – I decided it was time to give it a chance. Even so, I still played it safe by layering my black Mural bomber jacket over it to downplay the lingerie look and the lace accents. Urban chic and not entirely too risque, it was perfect for stomping around SoHo streets and heading downtown to my favorite coffee-shop – Cafe Integral on Elizabeth St.
Just the other day, I chanced upon a quote on Tumblr: “Adult life is when your dark circles are bigger than your friends’ circle.” How true is that?! I’ve been juggling a full-time work schedule with nightly graduate courses at NYU and squeezing in some social life revelries on the weekends, not to mention doing my best to jump back onto this blogging train. Dark circles have overtaken my face, as you may notice from my sunglasses-free photos, but as draining as this new schedule is for me, I must also admit it’s incredibly fulfilling to be feeling so productive everyday (I know, I’m so corny). So before signing off, I’ll leave you with this: Do something everyday to remind the world why you’re here. Surround yourself with the dreamers and the doers. Put your phone down and look around – connect face to face, and draw something that can’t be found. You were put on this earth not to be fleet but to create a difference, so find your muse, and stagnate not.
Thanks so much for reading! Hope you enjoy the photos… now, if only you could all join me for a cup of coffee on this Monday!
