Remember when I said I needed a vacation from my vacations? Tips on prolonging the life of your candles:
- First time is important: The very first time you light up your candle, avoid extinguishing the flame until the wax pool almost reaches the outer edge of the candle.
- Take it easy: Burn your candles for 1 to 3 hours at a time, and then let them cool off for an hour before burning them again.
- Mind the wick: Trim the wick at about 1/4 inch before each lighting, as this will help create a more even and slow burn. If you notice the wick is starting to lean against the side of the jar, use a spoon to carefully reposition the wick back to the center while the wax is still warm.
